Lehigh River Rafter Rescue

rescue boat took on water with the rescued female rafter in the boat. The rescue boat flooded and capsized. Now all three were in the fast moving Lehigh River. Lupacchini held tight to the rescued rafter and officer Christman was on his own to make it to shore. Local fire departments fished Lupacchini and the rescued rafter from the water. Christman was rescued by passing rafters and taken to shore. Fire personnel used ropes and basket to get the injured rafter up a steep hill side. …
